Last Sunday we discussed how sex and relationships are God’s idea. God has role modelled relationships in various ways and we ought to treat one another respectfully like brothers and sisters. We learned about the boundaries God has set in place when it comes to sex and why is it so valuable. We may not be able to change our past but when we understand his design we can live our future to please him and there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1).

Wow a challenging message from Michael about The Pursuit of Righteousness! Based on 1 Corinthians 6:12, we learned how we have a freedom to make decisions but do we ever ask, “Can I get away with that?” Do the decisions that are made on a daily basis help or hinder our walk? Pursuing righteousness is not about your behaviour but about your heart attitude. We need to make choices that draw us closer to God and he will look after everything else in our lives.

September is well and truly upon us, kicking it off celebrating the Father’s. Michael shared with us the traumatising minutes earlier that morning where he thought his children went missing as he discovered the back gate open. Though amusing for us knowing the outcome of the story, for him as a father in those earlier moments it was no laughing matter. From this Michael reflected upon the story in Luke 15, where the prodigal son returns home to his loving Father. We came to a greater understanding of God being our loving Father and how he wants to give us such blessing. In this way also, we were challenged to not make church something else on a TO DO list and just tick it off once complete. What difference will that make? Is it an optional extra? Where does it sit on our list of priorities? But rather, if we come to the house of God with a great expectancy for Him to meet us, we can trust that He will further exceed our expectations as we put Him first.

What a great weekend in the house with guest Melinda Dwight. She shared various thoughts from the book and life of Jeremiah. We came to understand that every act of obedience positions us to hear from God. We are not called to live a comfortable, safe existence. God has called us to run with horses and will remind us of his purposes and plans for our lives. Like Jeremiah going to the potters house watching the work being done to a piece of clay, we were encouraged that God, our Master Potter, is shaping our lives.

HAGGAI WHO???Yes that's right we are going on a 3 week journey to explore the relevance of this Old Testament book. Haggai is one of those small, hard to find books toward the end of the Old Testament that we sometimes stumble across when we randonly flick through our Bibles, YET, as with all books of the Bible this is one that has so MUCH GOLD in it!We invite you to join us for the 3 week journey to discover the minor prophet who arguably was the most effective in seeing his mission actually come to pass in his lifetime. There are so many truths to discover and keys that could unlock areas in our lives that lead to great Godly success. It can only be heard to be believed.

Part 3 of the Seven Deadly Sins is "Gluttony" by Ps Phill. Most people think that gluttony is only related to food consumption, but it's actually more than that. It's the desire to consume more than enough or requiered. Self Control os the opposite of gluttony. Listen and be prepared to be challenged.
